LISTEN: CLARITY MIX

I've recently come to the understanding that things really do work themselves out with time. I know it may seem cliché, but it's true. I used to always want the answers; I always wanted to be able to define and explain everything I was going through because I didn't like not knowing... But clarity is something that comes with time. Stepping back from situations to look at them from different perspectives... Letting shit ride... Feeling what you feel rather than trying to control your emotions... Waiting for the fog to clear on it's own... Is a more peaceful way of achieving a clear understanding of any dilemma.

Her powerful images go far beyond of the quality of her camera and fancy equipment, though... The way she nurtures her craft with dedication and enthusiasm is the reason why she's able to inspire so many who are introduced to her work. This week, Nailah took some time out of her busy schedule (she's a BOSS working full-time in the Air Force admist slaying shoots!) to FaceTime with me and share stories about her journey and the vision behind her photography.

KADE HENDERSON: STYLIST AND ENTREPRENEUR

One of the most naturally inspiring things about this world, to me, is the way a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. Mainly for it's appearance, a female caterpillar would most likely be an overlooked girl in a social setting. It is tiny and worm-like, and the naked eye wouldn't really be able to identify what makes it special and beautiful. But once it matures, grows, and transforms into a something more eye-catching (who it was meant to be)... It becomes clear that there was something amazing inside of that underestimated little caterpillar all along. This evolvement is what came to mind when I learned of a girl who used to be bullied in school by her peers, but who is now a fashion stylist and tastemaker of our generation. It's obvious, with sketching during class after finishing her work early and by developing wide eyes for wardrobe styling due to her family's limited discretionary income, that she was bound to grow to become the person she is today.
